What is the walk pace? The walks are self paced. Use your walking turn by turn directions to follow the routes. The average walking pace is about a 20 minute mile or 3 miles per hour. But that all depends on how much time you spend checking out the various sites, bathroom stops and breaks. There will be a fast paced leader, a mid-paced lead, and a sweep (at the end). The most important thing is to walk at a pace that is comfortable and fun for you.

Are there reasonably priced hotels in NYC?Several walkers from out of state have made reservations at these places: 1. Pod Hotel on 51st Street and the East side of Manhattan or on the West side in Hell's Kitchen. It's no frills but clean and in the center of things in the city. We've heard reservations directly on the site are cheaper than 3rd party booking sites. 2. The New Yorker Hotel in Midtown Manhattan. Apparently they have some deals. Some packages include breakfast. 3. Spring Hill Suites in Hell's Kitchen. Some of their packages also include breakfast. We're just sharing information, not necessarily endorsing.
